Mutter Ki Dry Subzi with onion, garlic and coconut


















Mutter Ki Dry  Subzi with onion, garlic and coconut (A tasty & easy side dish with rice / rotis …)

Serves: 2

Ingredients

1 tablespoon oil

1 onion (1 big size or 2 small size), finely sliced

6 garlic, chopped

½ teaspoon red chilli powder

¼ teaspoon turmeric powder

1 cup / 200 ml / 8 oz fresh mutter / green peas (shelled and separately boiled) Microwave cooking time – Microwave 1 cup fresh mutter with 3 tablespoon water in a safe bowl @ 750 W for 3 minutes and reserve 2 tablespoon stock  (water from the cooked mutter).

2 tablespoon grated coconut (optional)

½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)

1/4 teaspoon pepper powder (optional)

Method

Heat oil in a pan or karahi on a medium heat. Add sliced onion and fry on a medium heat until golden color.
Add chopped garlic and fry for 2 – 3 minutes.

Turn the heat to very low and add red chilli powder and turmeric powder. Gently stir well for 2 minutes until well combined.

Add separately boiled mutter, grated coconut and salt to taste. Sprinkle 2 tablespoon mutter stock or normal water. Mix all the ingredients well. Cover with a tight lid and cook on a medium to low heat 10 minutes until done / water dries up / mutter well combined with all the ingredients. Sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon pepper powder if required for a spice flavour. Serve as a side dish with rice / rotis / pulao …
